Live Jazz at Pop-Up Raleigh

After a few HOT event dates and rescheduling, we are thrilled to have the talented Ligon Jazz Ensemble joining us for Pop-Up Raleigh this Saturday (September 21st). Throughout the afternoon, these talented seventh and eighth graders from Ligon GT Magnet Middle School will perform at Trophy on Maywood Avenue.

This is not your average, amateur band….

The Ligon Jazz Ensemble was selected, by audition, to perform at the 73rd Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Illinois. In 73 years of this clinic, the Ligon Jazz Ensemble is only the 4th North Carolina Band to receive this distinction and one of only two middle school bands in the country to be invited this year. It is a huge honor and they have been performing at events throughout Raleigh to raise money for the trip.

All funds raised for the Ligon Jazz Ensemble through this campaign will support the education, performances, and activities of the band as it prepares and travels to the Midwest Clinic later this year. They will be accepting donations to ensure every member of the Jazz Ensemble is able to attend and grow through this experience.

If you cannot make it to Pop-Up Raleigh September 21st, please consider a donation through their gofundme page.

See you Saturday, September 21st, 12:00-5:00pm at Trophy on Maywood Avenue.
