Pop-Up Raleigh is the result of hard work, creativity and partnerships rooted in the downtown Raleigh, NC community. Original founders, Tracey Johnson and Cynthia Deis, met while working together at a local craft shop in 2003. Their love of patina, handmade art, food trucks and travel bonded and inspired them to create a quaint market of local makers and vintage collections. Currently, Tracey is the organizer and hands on event liaison for all Pop-Up Raleigh events. For more information about the history of the market and how we navigated growth & pivots for 14 years, HERE is a great article from CanvasRebel.
About Tracey
Tracey is a Raleigh native and the brain behind Marigold, an eclectic collection of art and vintage. She is also a founding member of the Raleigh craft collective, The Handmaidens and a driving force behind other local shopping events; HOPSCOTCH Festival Market, The Handmade Market, Urban Vintage and Made & Found. Her evolving work combines her love of painting and building with plundering through flea markets, estate sales and architectural salvage. In 2023, Tracey (& Mark) opened Marigold in downtown Pittsboro, NC. The shop was an extension of Pop-Up Raleigh and offered retail selling space to over 30 small businesses. The shop closed in February 2026, but continues to participate in pop-up markets and selling spaces in the area. Find pieces of this collection of highly curated vintage and local art at TrunkShow in Raleigh and Suzanna’s Antiques in Rolesville. When Tracey is not traveling or meeting with other creatives, she likes to relax at her tiny farm an hour west of Raleigh with her family, pets and a paint brush.
